Galvanized Facebook Friday – 07-01-11 – What Will You Broadcast and How?

This week the theme of broadcasting carried through from one event and group of people to another.  On Saturday at Agape Toastmasters, the theme was Broadcasting You.  I did a little editorial titled “It’s Okay to Be Gay” as part of the Communicating on Television manual and our Table Topics for the day challenged us all to think about what message we would like to broadcast to the world and how we’d like to broadcast it. This theme also ties in with the psychic phase of the Master Mind that I’ve been talking about a lot lately.

On Sunday, I was doing my homework for Self-Mastery class and while looking through Living the Science of Mind book, I stumbled upon a bit of writing by Ernest Holmes titled: “You Are a Spiritual Broadcasting Station.”  I had to read it.  Here are a couple of things I underlined:

“When a person’s mind is upset, disturbed, and unhappy, all he mentally hears is discord because his inner ear is listening to a continuous turmoil.” That pretty much describes the first 43 years of my life.

Here’s another quote that’s about what we can do to turn things around:

“Sit or lie in complete repose, and then tell God how wonderful He is and how glad you are, how grateful.  It is at times like these that we are really turning in to the Divine, and the Divine will always respond to us.” Yes, my anxiety was so intense, it took me about 2 years of lying still, listening to Holosynch and feeling grateful before I began to feel the Divine response.  Now that a crack has been made, the Divine response is nearly instantaneous.

Ernest Holmes goes on to say: “We shall discover that we are not only helping ourselves but are helping everyone around us.” This is so amazingly true.  I could write a book about the reciprocal affect of making peace with your past.  I’ll leave you with this quote and then I’ll move on to what I’m planning to broadcast and how.

“First of all we must be sure that we are right inside, and then learn to trust ourselves because we have faith in God. We must learn to get our own broadcasting station in order.”

Now that the broadcasting station is in order, I am ready to broadcast. And though my broadcast will be uniquely my own, I cannot deny the influence certain personalities have had on me over the years.  People like Phyllis Diller and Madonna and Wendy O. Williams.

Women who were bold enough to be vivacious and loud and wild and funny.  Women who transformed you just because they were who they were.

Musicians like Alanis Morissette, Naked Raygun and Robert Plant who got on stage and delivered it ALL and who transform the energy of their audience, sometimes leaving a positive, life-long impression.

But I’m not a rock star or a comic or an actress.  I’m a teacher and hypnotherapist and because of my friend Puleza (the people-pleasing perfectionist with severe issues of unworthiness), I was under the impression that teachers were only allowed to stay in confined little conservative boxes.  Boxes I smashed to pieces, dragged around behind me and pretended to be in to save face until eventually I had no energy left and I gave up on the box completely. All I can say is thank God for people who don’t fit in those boxes.  People like Pat Collins, the hip hypnotist who show another possibility.

Now that’s some broadcasting I can get on board with and in fact, I’ve started the ball rolling on a series of group hypnosis sessions which I plan to deliver with a twist and in a style that can only be described as “galvanized.”

The theme of broadcasting yourself was so powerful this week that we talked about it at length on The Sheri and Erin Show.

We talked all about the difference between what we are consciously aware of broadcasting and that which is being broadcast from our subconscious mind. It’s amazing the havoc that little devil called the subconscious mind can wreak upon the most innocent, unsuspecting mind.  However, with awareness…it’s amazing how quickly you can eliminate subconscious patterns and be free for the rest of your life.  If you feel like you are ready to break out of your fear box, you can click ‘play’ below or  listen to the show on BlogTalkRadio.

After the show, Erin sent me a great clip of Abraham-Hicks that talks about the way we send out signals to others and how that impacts what comes back to us. Now it is more important than ever to be aware, to change destructive patterns and for me it’s crucial that I have fun while I’m doing it, because afterall, being free mentally and emotionally is a precious gift that money can’t buy and it’s worth celebrating and sharing with others.
